Conference: "Empowering Citizenship in Our Shared Digital Future"

Internet Governance Lab Faculty Fellow and Humphrey Fellow, Andrii Paziuk from Ukraine, is working with several faculty at American University's Washington College of Law (WCL) to organize the conference "Empowering Citizenship in Our Shared Digital Future" on April 3, 2018 from 9:00am-3:00pm in Grossman Hall on the WCL campus.

This conference, presented by the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, will discuss how technology can impact the work of different fields. It will explore peace, freedom, security, and challenges of technology and cybersecurity in the digital era. Humphrey Fellows will be in attendance, as well as a wide range of participants from various disciplines and backgrounds.

The conference will include panels, roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities. Topics include:

  • Peace, Freedom, and Security in Cyberspace
  • Challenges and Opportunities in the Digital Era
  • Roundtable Discussions and "Food for Thought"
  • Brainstorming for Approaches to Our Shared Digital Future
  • Open Floor Session and Networking

This event invites students, staff, and faculty from American University and AU WCL; practitioners from non-profit organizations, NGOs, and government agencies; and experts from the technology and cybersecurity fields.

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program is a program for mid-career professionals sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the Institute of International Education.
