FTC-WCL Conference: Hearings on Competition and Consumer Protection in the 21st Century

AU Washington College of Law and the Federal Trade Commission are co-organizing a two-day conference from November 6-8, 2018 at American University entitled “Hearings on Competition and Consumer Protection in the 21st Century: The Intersection of Big Data, Privacy, and Competition.”

The event will host sessions on the economics of big data, privacy, and competition; the business of big data; the impact of GDPR; corporate data ethics; free speech and data privacy; and competition and consumer protection issues in online advertising.

The conference will feature a number of AU faculty across campus, as well as faculty from prominent institutions around the Washington, DC area and around the country, and practitioners from the FTC and other government bodies, businesses and the private sector, and think tanks and non-profit organizations.
