A Practitioners Guide to Internet Governance

With George Sadowsky

Join the Internet Governance Lab for “A Practitioners Guide to Internet Governance” with Internet Hall of Fame member George Sadowsky.

In the last few years, the Internet has been transformed from an amazing new technology to a weapon that threatens the existence of civilization as we know it.  Internet governance has emerged as a hot new topic, but there is little consensus about its role and how it can resolve seemingly intractable differences in society.  The challenge of this disruptive technology appears to far surpass the potency of previous technological disruptions, and the search for 'solutions' is intense.  What does Internet governance mean, in what manner is it needed, and how much progress can we expect to achieve?  What new policy or governmental mechanisms and actions are needed?  Will we survive?

George Sadowsky has been a member of the Boards of both the Internet Society and ICANN. He is an economist and computer and network specialist who has done extensive work in technology transfer and ICT policy development in the developing world.  He is a member of the Internet Hall of Fame.
