Ambassador Luis Gallegos will be recognized with the prestigious International Advocate Award at the 2024 U.S. International Council on Disabilities (USICD) Virtual Fundraising Gala on October 21, 2024. This honor acknowledges his tireless efforts to advance digital accessibility and inclusion for persons with disabilities worldwide.
In relation to the work of the Internet Governance Lab (IGL), Ambassador Gallegos has long been a champion of inclusive technology, advocating for policies that ensure equitable access to the digital world for all, particularly within internet governance. He serves as the Advisory Board Chair for the Institute on Disability and Public Policy (IDPP). His work has significantly impacted the development of frameworks that prioritize accessibility like the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
