Faculty Director Dr Laura DeNardis’s chapter on “The Social Media Challenge to Internet Governance” is published in the new edition of Society and The Internet, which is now available from the Oxford University Press.
The chapter contributes to the section on regulatory histories and futures, shedding light on how new questions posed by social media’s growing role in networked communication and information diffusion.
The updated edition of the book continues to provide interdisciplinary perspectives on the most significant factors affecting how the internet is developing and resultant political, economic and cultural effects. The book covers the most pertinent internet studies issues of today and is designed to be accessible for courses in media and communications, IT and sociology.
