Dr. Laura DeNardis nominated to the Wired UK innovators list

Internet Governance Lab Faculty Co-Director, Dr. Laura DeNardis, was called "a razor-sharp visionary of technology and the power battles that come with digitization and connectivity" on the Wired UK list of 32 innovators who are building a better future. She was nominated by Marietje Schaake, international policy director at Stanford University’s Cyber Policy Center and distinguished Dutch politician. The list compiles 32 change-makers, including top scientists, technologists and activists.

On October 16, 2020, the Internet Governance Lab hosted (virtually) the first meeting of the Alumni Expert Council. Comprised of AU alumni who are experts and luminaries in their respective fields at the intersection of Internet governance and technology policy, the Alumni Expert Council meets twice a year to discuss the Lab’s work and offer recommendations on research, public events, and opportunities for alumni engagement with current students and recent graduates.

The Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society (PACS) and its research program Digital Civil Society Lab (DCSL) are hosting the virtual series Reclaiming Digital Infrastructure for the Public Interest. The event is a 3-part series to build awareness and engagement about the possibility of fostering digital infrastructure that protects and aligns with community aspirations and the public good. Internet Governance Lab Faculty Co-Directors Dr. Laura DeNardis and Dr. Derrick Cogburn will be among the series speakers.
