The Hawaii International Conference on System Services (HICSS) is an annual conference that unites top scholars, researchers, and professionals in the field of system sciences. The conference ranks extraordinarily high amongst several Information Systems and Management Information Systems conferences. Beginning in 1968, HICSS is one of the longest-standing scientific conferences across the world. The rigorous double-blind peer review process for accepted research papers lends itself to the prestigious reputation of HICSS.
Dr. Derrick L. Cogburn and Dr. Nanette S. Levinson, and Dr. Filippo Trevisan, Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Associate Professor of Public Communication, share leadership roles in the minitrack on Social Media: Culture, Identity, and Inclusion. Dr. Cogburn and Dr. Levinson serve as co-directors of the Internet Governance Lab. While Dr. Trevisan and Dr. Levinson did not attend HICSS-57 in person, their contributions were instrumental in steering the minitrack towards success.
HICSS-57 showcased Dr. Cogburn and his team presenting their research in multiple minitracks. In addition to Dr. Cogburn, contributors to the various minitracks include American University faculty members Dr. Francis Armour, Assistant Professor of Information Technology and Analytics, Dr. J. Alberto Espinosa and Professor Information Technology and Analytics in the Kogod School of Business.
