On August 2nd, Professor Nanette S. Levinson, one of the two faculty directors of the Internet Governance Lab, and also the Academic Director of the SIS-Sciences-Po (Paris) Exchange, presented a paper entitled “Inclusion Changes and Challenges at the United Nations: Reframing Emerging Cybersecurity Debates” at the International Studies Association Virtual Conference. During this same meeting, she also served as the Discussant for the Panel on “Why Institutional Design Matters: Causes and Debates.”

AU's Internet Governance Lab Junior Fellows, Kathleen Scoggin, Walker Evans, and Alisha Changani are currently participating in the Generation Connect Youth Summit. The Summit being held in Kigali, Rwanda is hosted by the UN's International Telecommuncation Union Development Sector (ITU-D), which AU alumna Doreen Bogdan-Martin leads.

We are glad to announce the publication of a new open-access book by our Global Fellow and Deputy Director of the Center for Internet and Society, Francesca Musini, and Ksenia Ermoshina, a tenured researcher at the French National Centre for Scientific Research. The books is called Concealing for Freedom: The Making of Encryption, Secure Messaging and Digital Liberties.
