The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2021 kicks off on Monday, December 6th. The 16th edition is hosted by the Government of Poland under the overarching theme: ‎‎‘’Internet United’’. The Internet Governance Lab fellows and faculty will participate in several panels, presenting a range of interdisciplinary research at the intersection of Internet governance and technology policy.

One year from now, the International Telecommunication Union will choose between U.S. candidate Doreen Bogdan-Martin and Russian candidate Rashid Ismailov to be the next secretary-general of the ITU for the following four years. The Washington Post recently covered the upcoming ITU elections and discussed Bogdan-Martin’s future goals for the entity.

On Thursday, 7 October, our Faculty Co-Director Derrick Cogburn will participate in a panel by the Chronicle of Higher Education on post-pandemic research operations. The virtual event ‘Improving Research Operations and Output’ will occur between 2-3 p.m ET. Dr. Cogburn will explore the research efficiencies accelerated and normalized by the Covid-era.
